CHALLENGE

As a global technology company that primarily focuses on building innovative solutions for every agency across the U.S. government, GDIT needed a fresh way to spotlight their latest innovation. RAVEN is a mobile command center that is packed with incredible technologies that are mission critical in challenging situations and locations, such as in an emergency response to a natural disaster.

Our objective was to create an informative yet engaging ad, along with several environmental stills, for RAVEN that conveyed the vehicle's features and capabilities within a compelling narrative. Ultimately, we needed to create visual content that made a splash across multiple government agencies, getting more eyes on RAVEN and generating more business for GDIT.

SOLUTION

For us, this challenge was an incredible opportunity to stretch our creative muscles and ultimately make a kickass ad that got the attention GDIT needed. First, we developed a concept that was designed to showcase RAVEN’s modular nature, onboard technologies, and all-terrain capabilities: a hurricane that devastates Florida. This approach allowed us to show RAVEN when it’s activated, prepped, in-route, and on site coordinating an emergency response. This storyline gave us an opportunity to make a statement emotionally by creating a sense of urgency within the narrative. Now it was time to actually make this storyline come to life.

After years of experience in the video production industry, we had gained quite a large list of talented contacts in every film department. We got right to work building our crew while planning the shoot; a three-day production that required us to film the RAVEN in several situations such as in a large warehouse being prepped, driving at high speeds in the fog, and actually working on site in a natural disaster zone.

All said and done, we generated enough of a content library for RAVEN that contributed to a 2:00 full-length video, a :30 cutdown for social media sites like LinkedIn, and 15 retouched stills for use across all digital and print platforms.
